The Beautiful People of Cameroon

Mission trip report

Day 1

Cameroon. Named by the Portuguese in 1472 when they sailed up the Wouri River to fish for prawns (Rios de Camerous). River of Prawns. Later a German colony until 1918 when Britain took the northern part and France took the south. These two regions have been in conflict for several years. Major exporter of oil, palm oil, among other things.

Arrived in the port city of Doula, Cameroon. Our time in the Paris airport was about 30 minutes and two of our team didn’t make the flight out because of visa irregularities. Only five of us left now as we set out for the interior.

Cody’s suitcase was lost because someone took it by mistake at the Doula airport. They later brought it back and he got it this morning (everything in it).

Candi tried to blow up the plane by putting sugar in her Coke Zero instead of her coffee. Quite the explosion. The pilot landed safely.

Now we drive 6 hours over bumpy roads to the ancient city of Bafoussam. We will stay there tonight and drive to Bamenda tomorrow.

Our two lost team members are getting an emergency visa and will try and catch up to us later in the trip.

Somewhere in Africa,

M

So thankful you are all safe even with the sugar explosion! Glad you got your luggage returned to Cody! It sounds like JIM and JOSH are OK! Will be sending up extra prayers for Melanie and Doug. Thank you for the info MIKE. Thank you Jesus!

This made me laugh! So glad no harmful explosions and that Cody has his luggage. I will keep praying for ya’ll. I’ve shared this with 3 people already and asked them to keep praying for ya’ll 🙂
